We're 50 years old this year, but we don't look our age, thanks to a five-year, $32 million expansion and renovation project. When you visit, you’ll see a bright, clean, modern facility waiting to serve you and your family’s healthcare needs.

We’re centering around you with new buildings, new physician offices and clinics, new examination, procedure, laboratory and therapy areas, all designed to provide you with the most up-to-date, effective and compassionate care possible.

Come and see the new Labette Health. When you visit, here are some of the changes you’ll notice.

Front Entrance and lobby

As you enter under the new drive-through canopy, you’ll see our promise above the door – “We Center Around You.” In the bright, spacious main lobby, you’ll be greeted by a friendly concierge who will direct you to your destination. There’s an information desk staffed by our cheerful Pink Ladies. Nearby are admissions, business representatives, the Labette Health Foundation and the main elevator lobby. If you’re there for an outpatient lab test, the laboratory area is right around the corner.

‘Mainstreet’ Corridor

A wide sunlit corridor runs all the way from the north Emergency entrance to the south entrance of the Medical Office Building. Along the way, you can pause at the large window overlooking our laboratory, visit the gift shop or grab a bite in our new dining area.

Cafeteria and Food Service

The remodeled Labette Health Cafe is a bright, new dining area off the main entrance lobby.

Hours for the food-service area, which includes a grill and salad bar, are 6:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Vending machines operated by the Labette Health Auxiliary have been moved into the Café dining area, which is open around the clock.

Emergency Entrance

A new all-weather canopy has been added to the Emergency entrance on the north side of the hospital.

Rector Diabetes Education

and Resource Center

Since opening in late 2009, Labette Health’s Rector Diabetes Education and Resource Center has hosted more than 1,500 visitors. The Rector Center began offering free Body-Mass Index assessments and diabetes screenings on a drop-in basis in late 2010, and so far has screened 110 visitors for diabetes and performed 255 BMI assessments. The Center is open to the public every day and also hosts diabetes support group meetings and groups such as the Labette County Health and Wellness Committee.

The Center of Rehabilitation Excellence The 15,000-square-foot Center of Rehabilitation Excellence (CORE) at the south end of the Labette Health campus houses our Outpatient Rehabilitation Department, as well as two therapeutic swimming pools and a medical-based fitness center designed for “the other 80 percent” – people who have a medical need for a professionally designed exercise and fitness program, but would not normally join a fitness center.

Medical Office Building

The new Medical Office Building provides three floors of office and clinic space for physicians and allows for consolidation of other clinical services, all designed to provide our patients with the most comfortable and friendly experience possible. The building is designed with state-of-the-art electronic medical records (EMR) technology.

New Surgical Facilities

Two new operating suites have been added, and two existing suites have been renovated with the latest in surgical technology. We also have added two endoscopy suites, 13 pre-and post-operative rooms and three consulting/pre-admission rooms. A new, more convenient entrance from the east parking area to the renovated outpatient surgery area allows easy access to the new Women's Imaging Center.

New Laboratory Facilities

What you’ll see from the Mainstreet Corridor or the outpatient reception area is only the tip of the iceberg. Our laboratory is so state-of-the-art that medical professionals from as far away as Pennsylvania have toured our new facility.

Women’s Center and Radiology

A new dedicated Women’s Center includes mammography, DexaScan and space for patient education programs. There are private waiting and dressing areas – with in-suite restrooms – as well as new offices and reading rooms for our radiologists.

New Administration, Education

and Meeting Areas

The new Administration and conference areas, located in the former Outpatient Rehabilitation site, include three conference rooms with movable walls and state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, as well as offices.

Parking and Traffic Flow

Access is easier than ever before, thanks to a new south entrance from U.S. 59 that accesses The CORE, the Rector Center and the new Medical Office Building. And there's plenty of parking.
