New Physician to Join Labette Health Emergency Department
PARSONS, Kan., May 20, 2011 – Jared T. Shahan, M.D., a family medicine physician, joins Labette Health’s Emergency Department Tuesday, May 24.
Dr. Shahan previously practiced as part of Northeast Washington Medical Group and was on the staff of Mt. Carmel Hospital in Colville. In 2008, he completed a family medicine residency, rural training track, through the University of Washington Medical School in Spokane.
A graduate of Texas Tech Medical School in Lubbock and El Paso, he was named Most Outstanding Student in both family medicine and rural medicine in 2005. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in animal science from Texas A&M University in College Station.
Prior to attending medical school, he worked as a physicial therapy technician and land surveyor assistant in Bryan, Texas, and as an agent assistant in the Texas Veterinary Extension Service in College Station.
Dr. Shahan and his wife Candice have three children: Avery, 5; Sienna, 3; and Jackson, 1.
