STRATHE Flexibility. That's one reason Carrie Strathe really likes her job at Labette Health where she has worked as a phlebotomist for over 15 years. "Being a phlebotomist enables me to be a part of every department in the hospital – ER, surgery, OB and on the floor. I am not confined to one area or department, and I meet new people every day." There are other important reasons, too, including Family and Community. Carrie and her husband wanted to raise their children in a small town near their families. Working at Labette Health made that possible. And the Dedication of her fellow Labette Health employees is also something Carrie really appreciates. "Many of the employees at Labette Health have a great commitment to both our facility and our community." Labette Health appreciates the caliber of their dedicated staff and works with them to help pay expenses when they enroll in continuing education in a variety of courses. That was an extra benefit which Carrie appreciated receiving. "I wanted to be able to better communicate with our Spanish-speaking patients. My tuition was covered by Labette Health when I attended Labette Community College and took Spanish."
